BUFFET

My inspiration and love of this finish, came from Dorophya, the original founder of the Artisan Company.  I just had to find the right piece and this Buffet was the exact fit for this type of bespoke finish.  A very old, heavy, solid and unique Buffet, with lots of dents and imperfections.  Rather than trying to make her perfect, I worked with all of the imperfections, giving her a rustic and charming finish, paying respect to her age. She really is a very special, one off piece.

What we Did:

The internals have been completed using Artisan Carbon Black Velvet Luxe, a beautiful self-levelling, interior/exterior paint that requires no wax or lacquer.  The externals have been finished using Potters Clay Premium Chalk Paint, painted in all directions, creating texture.  Carbon Black has been watered down and brushed over the entire piece, again in all directions.  The piece was distressed lightly in certain areas, that would normally show wear and tear over time and Clear, Dark and Carbon Black Waxes were used, to create shadow and depth.  The handles were painted out in Carbon Black Velvet Luxe and Metallics have been used to highlight these, as well as all of the edgings on the piece.
