• Product Description

This Barristers Library was made in the 1930’s and was very carefully crafted, with attention to every detail.  There are no nails that hold this piece together, as it has been designed to slot in together, very similar to the old dove tailing technique.  We were in awe of this stunning piece from the moment we saw it, and whilst not wanting to take away its authenticity, we wanted to work with The Artisan Company’s Paint System to create something quite bespoke and make her a much beloved and truly appreciated piece bringing her new life, to fit in to the 21st Century.

'Faith's" paint finish was made easy, with the release of The Artisan Company’s Winter 2022 Limited Edition Colour ‘Kingsley’.  To add more depth and to make ‘Kingsley’ more intense, we applied a Coloured Wax, which has given the piece a more, old worldly look.  She is a piece that is versatile, as she can be utilized in almost any room you place her in….The Dining Room, as a luxurious Drinks Cabinet, a Bathroom to display your linen and fragrances, an Entrance Way or Living Area to showcase your books and treasured items.

Artisan Premium Chalk Paint, Velvet Luxe, Metallic Crème, Glaze and Glides have been used to give this piece a point of difference, to highlight and elevate her and more importantly, to keep her true to herself.

This is certainly a piece that has to be seen to truly be appreciated.  Pop in to the Studio at 102 King St, Pukekohe to see her in all of her glory.

      What we Did:

The back boards were painted in Artisan Carbon Black Velvet Luxe, Metallic Classic Gold and Marko Bronze Metallic Glaze, dry brushed.  The rest of the piece was completed using Kingsley Premium Chalk Paint, Carbon Black Coloured Wax and Metallic Forgotten Gold Glide.
