ENTRANCE WAY

An Entrance Way is a transitory place, where it is your chance to sweep guests off their feet and set an impression of what to expect throughout the rest of your home.  The Ornate Mirror reflects light, which cleverly creates the illusion of making the space appear larger than it is.  The wooden floors add warmth and the floor runner, draws the eye to the length of the space whilst adding texture and warmth.  My 300, year old, Welsh Coffer adds character and charm to the alcove at the end of the area and making a grand statement, and taking advantage of the high ceilings are two large Chandeliers.  These have created exuberance, elegance, and drama, as they truly are, the crowning glory within this space.

For this area, I chose to use The Artisan Company’s Wild Tusk Matte Estate Wall Paint, a soft, restful colour, that has lightened the area.  The door is now a feature, enhanced by using Kingsley Velvet Luxe, picking up the subtle green in the lead lights.  Crisp White Velvet Luxe has been used on the other two doors and the skirtings and Artisan Metallics have been used on the door handles, to tie into the finish I used to complete the Ornate Mirror.
