ENTRANCE WAY

We are excited to be sharing some inspiring work completed by our customer Catherine G.  She has become an avid painter, but there is a funny story to how her journey commenced.  Catherine signed up for our Blueprint Paint Class with her daughter.  When everyone was introducing themselves and telling us what bought them to the Studio, Catherine simply said “Oh, I have just come along to support my daughter”.  It is here that her creative side, well and truly kicked in to gear, a side she never imagined she had.  This beginners Class encouraged her to attend our advanced Master Classes, so she could continue to grow and build on her creativity.  She hasn’t stopped painting since.  I was recently invited to Catherine’s home to view some of her work and I was so surprised at how much she has done.   She is a person that loves to play with bright and bold colours, dabbing away with her Staalmeester brushes, dry brushing,  Coloured Waxing and adding Metallics here and there until she gets the desired effect that she is happy with.

Here, we are sharing her stunning Entrance Way with you.  The front door has been painted in The Artisan Company’s Kingsley Velvet Luxe and Satin Laquer.  She has painted the tiled floors in Calicut Premium Chalk Paint and Satin Lacquer and the furniture, which was inspired by a small painting she had been given as a gift, made her decide to paint this in Gretel’s Forest Premium Chalk Paint, Clear Wax, dry brushing with Firefly and applying Vienna Champagne Glide here and there highlighting the high points on the piece.
