From a simple, white colour scheme to a contemporary-modern moody bathroom. The initial decision when this home was purchased was to demolish this bathroom., making way for a new one, however, given Covid Lockdown, unable to source builders and the increase of price in building materials, the decision was made to re-paint instead. Using darker colours in a smaller space is always a bit daunting, as it can make a room feel smaller and closed in, but with lots of natural light, this space could handle darker hues.
A little DIY has gone into this project as well. The bridge across the bath was made from offcuts of wood thrown in a wood bin on the side of the Road and the Towel Rail came from a child’s cot, also found on the side of the Road. New Zealand’s Native Harakeke Flower Heads, grown on the property, tied together with thick jute string, add a touch of Kiwiana Décor above the toilet.
